The following is our plan to proceed with the opening the golf course on Friday, April 24th, at 8:00am, based on what we have heard from the state government and our state golf course associations. There is ongoing dialog between these authorities so things could change at any time.

The advised basic regulations are as follows:
– Courses may open for walking only. No riding carts.
– Tee times are to be booked by phone and payments are to be made on line or by phone.
– Pro shops and practice areas/driving ranges will remain closed.
– Players MUST practice social distancing.

Our first priority is the health and safety of our employees and customers. Therefore, other than one minor exception, we will be abiding by these regulations. Even though the pro shop will remain closed (one door will be open to use the restroom), and because we are not set-up to receive payment online, we will be accepting credit/debit cards and cash payments. To do this, golfers will be making their transactions through an open window located just left of the large glass door on the north side of the pro-shop, facing the 1st tee. That door will remain locked. Golfers needing to use the restroom will enter and exit from the south door on the opposite side of the pro-shop. This procedure will minimize contact between our employees and customers. We ask that when you are finished in the restroom, you immediately vacate the building using the same door that you used to enter. Our employees will be wiping down the restroom after each use. This may slow customer service at the window, so we ask that you be patient and practice social distancing while waiting.

To make it easier for everyone to practice social distancing, we are asking that all golfers call ahead to make a tee time (pro-shop phone number is 715.623.2663). We will be setting times 10 minutes apart rather than the normal 8 minutes. We are also asking that you please be on time, but since the putting green and range will not be open, plan on arriving no sooner than 15 minutes before your scheduled time and remain in the parking lot until the pro-shop window area is free of other customers. We will not be allowing groups larger than a 4-some, so please don’t pressure our check-in person to make an exception for only you. We reserve the right to add players to any group playing with less than a four-some. We WILL ACCEPT walk-ups with no tee time but will not try to squeeze groups in where there is no open time. Also, if you do arrive without a tee time, please call the pro-shop from the parking lot rather than coming straight to the window.

Golfers will be able to purchase necessities like golf balls, tees, and a limited number of rental pull carts from the pro shop. We advise that if you have your own pull cart, please bring it with you. Also, because we’re licensed to sell food and alcohol, you will be able to purchase, for carry-out only, sandwiches, snacks, soda and beer (no liquor) through the same pro-shop window. We will not be offering coolers for use on the course, so if you need one, bring it from home. However, PLEASE MAKE SURE IT IS EMPTY AS WE ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT ALLOW CARRY-ON BEVERAGES.

Lastly, please do not touch other player’s equipment. There will be no ball washers, towels, tee markers, trap rakes, water jugs, or other equipment on the course that could be handled/touched by many people. The flag sticks will be in the holes but we ask that no one touches them at any time. The cups will be inverted so the ball cannot fall to the bottom. This allows you to retrieve your ball without reaching your hand into the cup. There will also be garbage cans near each tee box.

Personally, I take the Covid-19 virus very seriously, not only for my own health and safety, but that of my employees and customers. I feel privileged that the state allows us to be open. I hope that you feel the same. The quickest way to lose this privilege is to not follow the restrictions listed above. I feel they are minor inconveniences. Closures to some playgrounds and parks in Wisconsin occurred when the users did not follow the restrictions. Those facilities remain closed today. So, to avoid the same happening here, please follow our regulations. Stay safe and have fun. But just as importantly, respect the rights of others to also stay safe and have fun.

We at Riverview are looking forward to seeing you beginning this Friday.

The Golf Course

Located four miles west of Antigo WI, in a setting bordering the junction of two branches of the Eau Claire River, sits Riverview Golf Course and its recently established home development, The Enclave at River Oaks.

Opened in 1963, the nine-hole, par 36 layout plays to 2494 yards from the forward tees to as long as 3202 yards from the back. Players of all ability levels will be treated to a fair and challenging experience. They will enjoy a scenic journey around the variety of holes, typical of Northern Wisconsin. Tee-shots will be driven into fairways of varied widths, while approach shots will be targeted to some greens that are quite flat and other with appreciable slope. There are only a few bunkers, but water hazards are plentiful. Elevation changes are almost non-existent, resulting in the course being easy to walk.
